Happy Birthday!!!

To my dad and Marinda!!!

Marinda came over for a little bit last night, so I took this birthday photo with Brockton. Then she headed out to dinner with her friends. I don't see Marinda much anymore. Kind of sad. :( But she's grown up and has finally left the nest. May she fly high and free and always remember to choose the right and keep the Lord first in her life. I love you Marinda! Have a happy day!!!

Happy 80th birthday to my dad!!! I love you dad!!!

Day 48 - Walk Brocky

Last night Brockton brought the leash to me and wanted to walk Molly. It was dark outside, and Molly wasn't interested, so I asked if he wanted to walk Brocky. He did. We clipped the leash to his pocket and off he went. He wanted to "Walk Brocky" all by himself. He ran up and down the hall.

Day 47 - Mater

Brockton LOVES Mater. Mater is the first thing Brockton looks for when he comes to visit (after Hallie and Molly of course.) When he watched the video of Mater flying, he flew his Mater. When he reads his flashcards, he wants Mater to read too. He'll read the card and then say, "Yay Mater!" and "Good job, Mater." If I say "Yay!" He'll let me know it's Mater I need to praise. Sometimes he wants Molly to read too, or some of the other cars. I love this picture, because it shows the joy he finds in Mater.

Day 46 - Pillow, Molly

For some reason, Brockton loves to put the pillow on top of Molly. He'll say, "Pillow, Molly."

Day 41 - Girl's Night Out

Stacy invited me out for banana splits tonight. What a fun surprise! We had so much fun! I've missed being with my sweet baby girl. She had her little point and shoot, and took this picture which will be my picture of the day to remember this fun time.

Afterwards, we came back home to upload her pictures to my computer. Then she showed me some of the tricks she has learned about our flash. I tried them out on this picture of her. I love the soft look of the light! Thanks for showing me this Stacy!

Turned the picture into Chocolate.

Day 40 - Fish Again

Photobucket

Here's another attempt at the fish. This time they were good and hungry and didn't mind if I took their picture, even with the flash. Aren't they so cute?

Day 39

I should say picture 39 since this was taken on Sunday before I got into the game. I took Brockton outside and tried to get him to cooperate. He was too busy running around, having a great time. I'd say, "Okay, let's go back in," and he'd say, "No, picture Grandma."

Day 38 - Superbowl

I've never been to a Superbowl party before. Heck, I don't think I've ever watched the Superbowl before. Cody invited us over to his house for a party. At first, he just invited Skyler, Jace, Stacy, Scott and Tracy and me. Then Dallan found out about it and wanted to be invited, then Stephanie's family wanted to come. Cody decided he needed more food. He just was afraid people would back out. Stacy made Subways - two 3-footers to feed the whole crew. Skyler brought 2 pizzas. Dallan texted me when I was at Cody's and told me he felt sick and they weren't coming. Stephanie's family decided not to come, so it was back to the original people but with TONS of extra food. I felt bad. There was a lot more room though, than anticipated with all the extra people. Stacy and Scott only stayed until halftime, then they went to watch the rest of the Superbowl with his family. Everyone was routing for the Colts. I didn't pick a team, just went along with the rest. Towards the end, I told them I was changing teams. The other team deserved to win if the Colts were just going to throw the ball away. Found out the next day the one who was supposed to catch the ball used to play for BYU. Ahh, a connection. I need a connection as to why I would cheer for one team over another.

My picture of the day. Brockton wanted me to take a picture of his cars, so I took a couple. Then I told him to go lay down by them, thinking he would lay on his stomach and pose for a picture. He did this instead. Too cute!

Day 37

Brockton wanted to go look at the cows again. On our way, we took some pictures.

Went for the vintage look.

He's so cute!

Tracy put him up a tree.

Day 36

Brockton brought over his bouncy ball, so Jace and Allison took him outside to play with it.

Jace helping Brockton make a basket.

Jace and Allison

Brockton wouldn't look at me, so I said, "Oh no!" He looked at me like "What happened?"
What a cutie!

Nicole's Classes

Stacy and I began our photography journey last fall (2008). We started at Inkleys, went on to some Community Ed classes, then found a great beginning photography teacher in Orem - Nicole Hill Gerulat. We learned so much from Nicole. She had Stacy and I looking at each other exclaiming, "Why didn't the other teachers teach us this?" She taught in terms we could understand and had us do homework each week so we would internalize the things she had taught. We took Photography 101 and 102 from her. We were VERY sad to learn that she was moving to San Francisco. She has FINALLY opened up online classes for Photography 101. I wish she was opening up a 103 class. I would be one of the first in line!

The reason I am posting this is several people have asked me what classes I took. So, if you're looking for a class that teaches the basics and teaches you how to take pictures in Manual instead of Auto, this class is definitely the one you want. It is well worth the money. We went on to take more courses and workshops and can say that Nicole's prices are very reasonable.

Here's a link to a post on one of the classes: http://scatteralittlesunshine.blogspot.com/2008/11/oh-well-i-missed-day-i-wanted-to-make.html

Day 34 - Snow Hearts

As I was going out to get the mail, I passed this heart made out of snow. While it wasn't as pretty as the one I saw while on my walk with Brockton, I thought I'd get a picture of it.

After taking the picture and heading back inside, I saw this one:

Ahhh, February...when love is in the air and even on the ground.

Day 33 - Lily Pad

I love to look at the lilies as I pass by too. Sometimes they are open and sometimes they are closed. Depends on the time of day.

Day 32 - Fish

Okay, so I'm a bit of a tease. Everytime I pass these little fish at work, I have to stop. They immediately swim over and open their mouths, all clamouring to be fed. They are so funny! However, when I brought my camera to take their picture, I took too long getting the right exposure and when they realized they weren't going to be fed, most of them swam away. You can see some of their hungry little mouths, but you can't see how they all cram together vertically trying to get the food. Maybe I'll try again another day.

Oh Well

While Brockton and I were walking Hallie on Sunday, I came across the perfect picture for February in the melting snow. The snow had melted all around leaving a perfect heart shaped piece. There were only 2 problems.

1. I didn't have my camera. As I was thinking about remembering this spot to come back later,

2. Brockton stomped on it. Over and over.

He's all boy.
