Stacy and Scott

My darling daughter, my best friend, thinks it is time to leave the nest. I'm not too sure I agree. She has met the man of her dreams and plans to marry in September. I am happy for her, but I will miss her. I will miss the music that is ever present, the great meals she cooks and most of all her delightful company.

Last night we went to the Eclipse concert in Sandy. It was postponed awhile as we waited for a heavy downpour to pass. After the storm and before the concert, a rainbow appeared and I snapped a few pictures with Stacy's point and shoot camera.

Excuse me while I go cry.

Brockton is 18 months Old

Brockton is now 18 months old. He came over to visit last night while his parents had a date night. First, we went outside to pick strawberries. He carried the bucket out for me and held it while I watered a few plants. Then I started picking strawberries. I handed them to him and he threw them in the bucket for me. Oh, well, what's a few little bruises? We had fun. One time he dropped one and I said, "Whoops." He said, "Whoops." What a smartie. When we were done, we took them in the house, washed some and ate them. Brockton LOVES strawberries. A couple of weeks ago, he came out to the garden center and I gave him a few off of the plants. Later, he saw a couple of strawberries sitting on the counter. He ran over and got one and brought it back to me to remove the stem. After he ate it, he ran over and grabbed the other one. When he sees a strawberry he always says, "Mmmm." After we ate a few strawberries, I took him outside to get a few pictures. Stacy had to run back to work to help out, so she couldn't help.

Brockton loves balls.

Aren't these the cutest little flip-flops?
I had to zoom in on his cute little face.

One of the few pics I caught of him smiling. He was too busy to stop and pose. I think I just started laughing on this one. He laughed too. Then I grabbed a leaf that had fallen and put it on my head. He thought that was really funny and picked up a petal and put it on his head. He even repeated this action later on when we weren't on the porch anymore. He climbed the stairs, went over to the petals, put one on his head and came back down the stairs. Later, when we were eating dinner, I gave him some sliced olives. He ate the first couple, but the last one, he put on his head. Silly boy.

Brockton loves the cat. He loves our dogs, but when he discovered we had a cat too, he wanted to look at her all the time. He loved watching her jump up on the railing. Here he is with her. He must have done something to spook her because after this, she didn't want much to do with him. She would run and hide. He tried to find her.

Don't you just love this picture? Brockton took it. Stepped up to me holding the camera and pushed the button down. Ok, the first one was a little blurry, but then he pushed the button a little bit first and focused it on this one. I think we have another budding photographer.

Smelling the flowers.

We went back in and had a few more strawberries. I decided to take this picture of him with the bucket to remember our picking adventure. Ahhh, I love tending this sweet little boy!

Too Scary!!!

I found out today about an incident that happened to my dad on Saturday at the Garden Center. He was driving away to go home when he spotted a pot that had blown out into the parking lot. He drove over to it, opened his door, undid his seat belt and reached out to get it. I don't know what happened, but he ended falling out, caught in the seat belt harness. Since his foot was now off the brake, the truck started rolling dragging him with it. He finally got loose, but had to hurry and flip his body out of the way before the back of the truck ran over him. My brother saw it happen and went running after him. He thought for sure he had been run over. My dad jumped up though and started after his truck. Bart told him to let it go. It broke through the fence and went into the field a short ways before coming to a stop in the tall grass. I am so thankful his guardian angels were on hand. He's pretty skinned up and has a huge bruise on his arm, but he was back out to the Garden Center today (after golfing.) I love you Dad!!!

Finger Update

My finger is starting to look a little bit more normal. I still can't type on it though. Here are some pictures I took of it this morning. If they look a little unfocused, it's because I lost my glasses out in the garden Friday night. Tracy found them on Saturday when he stepped on them. Thanks Trace...

Horse and Carriage

Emily W. asked Stacy and I if we'd like to take some pictures of a bride in a horse drawn carriage...heck ya!!! We were so excited, too bad the weather didn't want to cooperate. Here's some of my faves.
